Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: 8mi/~36 min
Driver: Ministry - Tapes Of Wrath
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel:Woke up Tuesday morning to an intense Left Calf cramp, which made movement extremely sore for most of the day. I wound up doing actual physical work in loading up stuff in my truck, which took a while, and by the time that was over, I was hot and sweaty and figured I'd take a pass on cardio, looking to resume today. Today was pretty solid, Legs were fine, Air was mostly ok, though got pushed a bit. Needs to be pushed more, though.

Mileage now at 318 for the year.

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Seemingly no after effects of yesterday's workout, so I felt kind of motivated to take another swing at one today...which lasted about 1/3 of the way through and then I lost interest in a big way. Also, started to feel it more, predictably, I guess. This is the first sub-30 minute workout in a really long time and while I could have kept going, I was not feeling too inspired, so I took what was there and cut it short. Air was not really tested, but was mostly ok. Temperatures are blazing and I'm afraid I might have missed the best window for live biking, which I also considered, but think I need to get more in the swing of things first before riding in traffic.

Mileage now at 310 for the year.

Workout: Cardio

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Very longer than intended gap which saw me have to finally get my tooth fixed after being slightly ill, then getting sick again afterwards. COVID tests all came up negative, but it took quite a while to actually bounce back. Super annoying. Happily, last weigh-in was 232, which is -2 from last time, so I guess I won't be too pissed.

Air was funky again today, but overall it was able to more or less keep pace with a basic "back in the saddle" workout. Hopefully I've turned a corner and can get now get focus back on regularity. Legs were fine for this.

Mileage for the year now at 304.

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Left a bit in the tank yesterday so I could go on a ride today, if weather permitted (I probably could have yesterday afternoon, were I more confident about Air), but it's not going to work out, so I threw in another workout for the AirDyne. Air was way better, Legs were still pretty good to go. Tomorrow not looking any better for a ride (I think), so looking more at Tuesday. I definitely want to try to get as many in as I can while I can, but weather is all over the fucking place. Given that I won't be going to the gym for a while longer (only been mentally ready and waiting since like 2019), I can still work on other stuff...whilst I pine away for the iron.

Did manage to remember a weigh-in but not until after I'd already had breakfast, which I don't usually like to do. Still, holding steady at 234 after all that, as expected, +1 from last time. Mileage for the year now at 296.

Observations/Intel: Got pretty jammed up the last couple of weeks, with what I assume are allergies, but were bad enough that I took a COVID-19 test twice, the first and second time I've ever done that. Both were negative and the fog is finally lifting, so back to it. Air was still a touch off the pace, but closer to back to normal. Legs, obviously, with that much time, were fine.

I forgot to do a weigh-in, but I didn't go off-diet at all, so I'm guessing it's probably not changed much, though appetite has been pretty low, so possibly. Mileage for the year now at 289.

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Had my son staying with me the past few days, so I skipped Thursday, figuring that I might give Legs a break and take a shot at sprints today, which I did...the last sprint goal of .25 mi at max speed is now accomplished. Air was not great, but overall the max speed was far less of a push than it has been previously. Air needs to improve, though...still off the mark, but I'm guessing allergies played a role there. New goal is now to run sprints at .4 mi. I took at shot at it on level 5 today, which is the last I can remember it, but that was after the full tilt sprint and Legs were a touch fried by then, so didn't quite get it. I am going to start throwing in those sprints during the regular AirDyne workouts, though, as I don't know where the cutoff for .4 mi sprints actually is. I was debating running it right at .5 mi, but that does not strike me as do-able and I'm going to try for a lower increment first and keep it progressive. Next workout will probably also be AirDyne as weather not greatly cooperative.

Mileage for the year now at 282.

Observations/Intel: Weather again not playing nice, so back to the AirDyne. Legs yesterday and Sunday were decidedly not great (I should consider doing some stretching next day, if I'm not going to be going back to the gym anytime soon, I guess), but today were good enough to go. Air got pushed a bit but held up well. I could have easily extended this well past an hour, even with a higher cadence than I've normally been using and I think most of that is motivation. I need to get my ass more towards bike shape and that won't happen unless I both lose weight and push harder.

Speaking of weigh-ins, today's was 233, which is -1 from last time. I really need to keep ratcheting down and keeping it clean. Mileage for the year now at 275.

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Trek 7.3FX
Duration: 6.5mi

Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: I kind of wish I could I find, no, I DO wish I could find a relatively level place to ride in the area, but those are few and far between. I might look around for one elsewhere, though, as I'm definitely not ready for hills as of yet. The problem with going deeper into the valley is that the hills down going West are way steep, so I need to also find a route to get back, if I ride there. I may just go off exploring, as I think if I go south first and then more westerly, that could work out...still need to spend some time planning it, though, as a number of streets over that way are a little on the not super safe side for biking...I should also probably at least make a note of what time I'm starting out...it's still pretty soft there, but I was gone less than an hour and probably less than 45 minutes, but I don't know a range any closer than that.

I went in hoping for 5 laps at the park and managed 2 3/4 and the last bit, as I live a bit uphill, was murder. On the good note, I will be able to use the different gears on the crank, even though I don't really like how they shift, but I'd like to have somewhere level to do some laps and training there. I can't imagine how awful it would be without some solid time on the AirDyne leading into this. Legs were also a bit weary going in, which is definitely not helping thing and I'm about to start a week of incorporating more salads, so the caloric boost probably won't be there. Tentative plan is for the AirDyne Tuesday, but off until then, as the weather, except for maybe Monday, won't be accommodating. I need to let Legs catch up better, I guess. And stop being so much of a fatass.

Mileage on the Trek for the year now at 23.

Observations/Intel: Weather is too iffy to take the bike out, so as not to skip days, I decided to throw in a session downstairs, even though Legs are far from back and I'm getting racked by allergies. Obviously, a much more casual pace today, but still pretty solid. Air wasn't really tested, though energy was good throughout, as I'm working back in some of the old supps I still have from my more regular riding days. I haven't decided what I will do for extended rides yet, but it was nice to be reminded how well that stuff worked...not sure if they still produce it...it's kind of grainy, though, so I might keep looking around. If I get in good enough shape, may also try to find a riding group. Seem to be a lot of those around.

Weigh-in was 234, which is even from the last time. Mileage for the year now at 264.

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Day was too nice for me to resist the ride around a neighborhood...it was pretty fun exploring streets, but not a whole lot of flat in the area I'm in...I think the next thing when the weather permits will be to go do some laps at the park and from there, may start exploring other parks...not quite sure as of yet. I need to work my way up to the trail. I also need to be able to spend more saddle time, which the short rides are helping with as far as my ass getting used to the seat, but not so much in terms of the endurance for my legs. I'm in an ok, but not really great riding area until I can get more bike ready...case in point, was ready to storm an intersection and my foot slipped off the pedal. I probably need to get different shoes for riding...may just use the ones for the AirDyne once, then go buy another pair for the AirDyne, as the AirDyne pedals are harder to grip than the bike.

Anyway, Trek mileage now at 16.5.

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Trek 7.3FX
Duration: 5.25mi/~30min

Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Initially, I was not planning on counting these as workouts, but given that I'm still overly heavy, carting my fat ass around (that reminds me that I need to do another weigh-in, though diet has been way more dialed in lately) on a bike is definitely a workout, even if done casually, particularly when there is either wind or hills. Allergies were really not good today, so Air was pretty tanked, but I did a decent amount of exploring at the park. Riding there will be good, I think, as it forces me to contend with hills and if I want to take on that other trail this year, part of which goes through this park, as it turns out, then I will absolutely need to get that solved. Legs were, of course, fried fairly early in, as they're still not all the way back. It's interesting, much like running on a treadmill is way easier than running live, live biking is harder than the AirDyne, though the AirDyne is much closer to its respective analog than a treadmill is. Also, the area around me has kind of destroyed streets, which definitely limit speeds. The park does have a dedicated bike lane, which I love and I might look around for more parks with that feature. Very nice to have.

I'm trying to remember the functionality of the Cateye I have on the bike. It listed ride time as around a half hour, which is probably right, but then 5.28 miles, which I kind of think is off. The park itself is 1.4 miles and did that twice, so we're pushing 3 miles just in that, but I also did a bit off exploring off the grid and rode both back and forth to the park, so I'm going to assume it's probably pretty close. That also means I've done closer to 7 or 8 miles (I forget how quickly it adds up on a bike) prior to the Cateye, so I'm going split the difference and call it 13 miles cumulative for the year thus far and we'll go from here. Overall a pretty fun ride, though, as noted, more intense than I was expecting. I might go out again tomorrow, but if so, that will strictly be casual neighborhood riding, I think...exploration is also a lot slower than riding on a track.

Observations/Intel: Well, I thought last workout would be the last for a bit, but the fucking weather is not cooperating, pushing back grilling season now 3X. Legs were no go for the Trek for the early part of the week, but I thought Thursday would be a go and was planning a ride, but did not beat the weather before I was ready to actually go, so that was scrapped. I debated hitting the AirDye, but reverted back to the idea of an OFF week. Today, weather still shit, but I thought I could maybe take a run at sprints...getting into it, though, running a mini-sprint, after an extended warm-up, established that would be a hard no, so I threw in for a more or less "normal," albeit abbreviated workout, especially since I could not get my cassette player to function correctly. Time for a new one, I guess...assuming I can find one. I may have to hook up a stereo to the area, assuming I have power enough. Also had rough allergies this week, though Air was fine. Legs were feeling it. Tuesday is probably too shitty weather-wise to take the Trek out, so maybe another workout, maybe on OFF day, undecided as of now.

Mileage for 2022 now at 255.

Workout: Cardio

Driver: David Bowie - Best Of Bowie

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: This is going to be the last AirDyne workout for a while, I suspect. Legs definitely need some time off. I had an Inner Thigh tweak both Friday and Saturday and yesterday, Legs were definitely no go. Today, they were good enough to go, but just. No sprints, no duration, just basically a casual workout, like the entire thing was at warm-up pace. I meant it to go longer, but both Legs started to bark and I cut it short a bit. Air was obviously not tested.

The plan is now for the next couple of days to be off completely. Ideally, maybe the next 3 days, but that depends on weather and how excited I am to get on the Trek and get out there, which I'm pretty excited to do. I have a few routes in the area, including a bike trail I was previously unfamiliar with and which I'm not ready for yet, that I want to get out and explore, which should also give me a good idea of what mileage I've already done, though I will be estimating that. I'm planning on tracking that progress here as well because I apparently love data.

Weigh-in was 234, which is -1 from the last time I did that, which was evidently March. Mileage for the year now at 248.

Observations/Intel: Legs were a bit banged up today, somehow (heavy, heavy sleep the last couple of nights), so I went more casual. It's been since the end of January since I've had any sustained time off, so I'm probably due for that. The plan is now to do sprints this weekend, if Legs are go. If not, then the usual longer workout Saturday (probably) and then catch-as-catch-can with the Trek, as it should finally be warmer next week. I definitely need to dial in diet a lot better, which will probably start in earnest the week after, as next weekend is also when I'm targeting for kicking off grilling again.

Mileage for the year now at 241.

Observations/Intel: What I presume were allergies wrecked sleep pretty well last night, so head wasn't really in things, but Legs were good enough to go, so go we went. Air was ok, Legs got a bit cranky in there, so I decided to cut it a bit short. If I can get sleep back on track (probably need to also cut down caffeine), I may take a go at sprints again this weekend, depending on what the weather does. Outside events are going to get a bit funky towards the later part of the weekend, so next week might be more hit or miss, but if it's nice, definitely want to get on the bike and go.

Should probably do a weigh-in, but I can't seem to keep myself off the Trek if it's nice, so I guess the point is probably academic. Total mileage for 2022 now at 235. If the weather continues being shit, might be able to actually get closer to being on pace for the soft goal, though I think that consideration will probably be over after this weekend as things supposedly start to warm up again.

Observations/Intel: Yesterday was pretty funked out, with I'm assuming really bad allergies, so I took it off entirely, finally coming around towards evening. Too cold to ride, and my head wasn't in it. I did note that after getting the bike back from the shop, I got in a whole 2 rides before I blew another fucking tube. So, I re-acquainted myself with changing tubes. I blew so many a while ago that I got really adept and could do it somewhat quickly. I hope not to get that practiced again this time around. Fucking annoying. I may switch tires to something hardier, though, since speed is not really my major focus any longer. I did get the magnet for the mileage reader, so I'll be able to track that on the bike now. I need to do a phone upgrade (I'm so lazy) and then will install the Garmin software, which will alleviate the need for the Cateye I'm using now, but I can't realistically approach doing the biking channel this year. Too much would need to go right that isn't, but in the interim, I can decide if I want to start another YT channel, this one costing me at least $2K to being to play in...

Back in the AirDyne saddle again, Legs a bit stiff, but good enough to go. Very little sleep last night since I can't seem to bring myself to remember to take my fucking Zyrtec appropriately. Did manage to this morning, so Air was fine for most of this, which was kind of a question going in. I will be indoors for at least the next two workouts until it starts to warm up again towards this weekend, then who knows...

Mileage for the year now 228.

Observations/Intel: Still in a bit of a cold spell, one nice day is supposed to be tomorrow and I really want to get an actual ride on the Trek in if I can, so I went a bit light/short on this one. It felt casual, for the most part, though obviously it was a lot more towards intense than casual. The weekend will be back on the AirDyne, regardless of what happens tomorrow, but may be Sunday, depending on what happens. Legs were a touch sore, but Air was fine throughout.

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Got the actual bike (hereafter referred to as the Trek) back on Friday and was evidently really missing it because I took it out Friday, then again on Saturday. Lots more hills than I accounted for in this area and those are considerably more hurty on the Legs than the sprints, though I can control air a bit better with those...kinda. Anyway, of all the things I put back together with the Trek kit, I was only missing the front wheel magnet for the speedo, so I ordered another, but no idea what mileage I put on, maybe 10 miles put together both days. I don't expect a lot as those were mostly fuckaround rides, though I did get some very nice speed going a few times. The seat and the hills precluded any further riding both Sunday and Monday, though I think I could have gone yesterday. I didn't though, in anticipation of the weather changing for today...

Very cold today, so back to the AirDyne. Air was good, Legs were pretty solid, if a touch tweaky here and there. I was going to try to keep ride days the same, but clearly, if it's nice out, I'm going to have a hard time keeping myself off the bike, as I explore the area a bit...at least that's the plan. Like, I know the area from a car (and it's not at all ideal for a bike, honestly), but I'm trying to work up to some larger rides later on in the year. I might keep track of that mileage separately, but the bike rides aren't really intended as workouts per se, though I suppose they definitely are. Anyway, mileage for this is 211 for the year.

Got both tamped down enough to go since Legs were fine and I really wanted to hit both 200 and finish the DVD I was watching. Both accomplished. Very, very casual, since any kind of pressing threatened to break my head entirely. Air was not tested.

Mileage now at 202 for 2022. Weather has also turned a bit nasty, so I may be a bit later to get to the bike than expected. I also need to familiarize myself with the feel of it, shifting and so forth, which I will do prior to any lengthy rides.

Observations/Intel: Son was over both weekend days and it was nice, so lots of activity, more than anticipated. Legs a bit sore but good enough to go. Bad allergy (I hope - weird to say) day, so Air was not great and I wasn't so into it, but bike is in the shop and I need to do my level best to keep going so I can actually use it once I get it back (projected next week, but maybe sooner).

Mileage for the year is now 196, so as long as I have the actual workout Thursday, I should hit 200, which will then put me only a full month behind the soft goal, but travel, etc., so I'm not too pressed about it.

Observations/Intel: Legs were on track for sprints, weather getting nicer and I'm taking the bike in Monday for a tune as there is no fucking way I'm letting any more nice days go by without a ride, if I can help it. Need to still drop some weight but if the Air Dyne sessions are going to be less and less in the near future (probably by the end of this month), then now is the best time for the sprints, think I. So, pretty amped for it, get on, do a couple of mini-sprints and all is well. Then I go for the biggie, 1/4 mile max out. It takes a lot of rhythm and I'm finding it, digging in a bit towards the .20 mark, then I hit .23 and I think I'm there, but calamity. Somehow, my headphone cable catches one of the handlebars, which rips the headphones out of my ears and flings the CD player across the floor. Naturally, I lost the cadence and concentration at that point, so, again, did not make it. Legs were too shot for anything approaching success after that, though I did try. So, it continues to elude me, though I was definitely there this time, were it not for that mishap.

Weigh-in was 235. Clawing my way back there, with this stupidly resistant body. I seriously don't know what the fuck to think about whatever that surge was. I definitely did not increase caloric load. Pretty serious stall, looking like. Mileage for the year is 189. I will definitely hit 200 before I get the actual bike back, assuming I am able to hit continue this streak.

Observations/Intel: Saturday did a bit of a number on the Legs, but they were good enough to go today. I would have run this a bit longer, if not for a commit I needed to cut it short so I could prepare for. I think I may try to do some sprints this weekend, depending on how Thursday goes. I'm also kicking around the idea of doing more runs during the week of a lower duration...maybe 30 minutes instead of extending it...I still haven't quite gotten my head back into things yet...diet is a lot more cleaned up, though, which is helping...

This (or tomorrow) is the 1 year anniversary and I forgot to check my weight, so in that year, it's either slightly over or under 30 lbs down. Mileage for this year is 173, so total mileage over that time is 24 short of 1000.

Observations/Intel: Got another load of donation stuff staged, which was a lot of up and down stairs, as well as getting the bike rack fixed to my current car. Bike is going to in to get serviced at some near future point, though I don't anticipate riding it until towards the end of the month...maybe. Need to get a line on how long to get it done, which will influence that somewhat. Legs were a bit sore today, but I really wanted to go. Wound up being hugely delayed by whatever is going on with my body that the trip has thrown a wrench into. I had thought it had cleared, by nope, definitely not quite yet. Air wasn't really tested and was fine.

Next week will be the one year anniversary since I resumed, so a really great time to be holding water and such. Fucking frustrating and I might do another mini-trip in the coming months, this time easterly, depending on how the next wave of COVID goes. Mileage for the year is now at 164.

Observations/Intel: Finally starting to feel more myself...starting to circulate some time frames as to when I would be available to start work, need to look at the forecast, but will be bringing in the actual bike to get it tuned in the very near future. Gym is still going to be out for the foreseeable future, as I don't see COVID relenting enough for that to be a worthwhile prospect. Need to be away from people to the extent possible still. Also, had a nerve pinging me a bit yesterday, but not enough to stop me. Air was a bit sloppy, Legs a touch sore, but not too bad. Really need to buckle things down and get back into the groove. I have some yard clean-up after the last storm and a pretty significant donation haul to do over the next few days.

Weigh-in was 237 again, but caloric load is not high enough to be adding fat, so it seems more like metabolic stall and water retention, the latter of which I'm entirely sure about. I have not been getting enough hydration. Mileage for the year is 157.

There has also been a lot of snowfall, but I've tried to keep active (Legs were a bit sore for this, somehow) in the interim. I really need to get back on the actual bike, I think, and not having a concrete end date to when I can move from this to that, or to the gym, is decidedly not great. Today was casual, more trying to get back into the flow of things.

Last weigh-in was 237, I think...been a while and I need to do another. Mileage for 2022 now at 148.

D156: 02.26.22

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: ~7mi/~32min
Driver: Night In Gales -  Thunderbeast
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Was super amped last night for this one last workout before the trip, but was not feeling it at all this morning. Guts a touch crampy and Legs pretty chalky, along with some allergy nonsense, but I still went for it anyway. Wanted to hit it hard last night, but Legs and motivation both definitely not there.

From here, will be taking off until March 8, at least. My schedule will be to drive all day Wed, Thurs free (will be exploring Santa Fe and ABQ), Fri/Sat both the Fiery Show, and trade shows tend to involve a lot of walking, maybe some exploration also, possibly. Sunday is driving all day back. I don't intend on going to the hotel gym at all during that time, due to COVID and all. I will be relaxing the diet somewhat, as is usual for traveling, but not to a great extent. Planning on a couple of beers Mon/Tues, but nothing after that. Of course, all the unpleasant stuff is waiting when I return, save for getting a gym membership, which I don't think will be likely until maybe April.

Mileage for 2022 is now at 141, way off the pace I'd hoped. I forgot to do a weigh-in recently, but another I did after the 229 was 230 or 231 (forget which now), so I'm guessing somewhere in that neighborhood. March 23 is the one year anniversary of the first weigh-in, so I have that definitely in mind.

Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: ~7mi/~33min
Driver: Led Zeppelin - Song Remains The Same
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Sleep was really screwy the night before last, so still not feeling all the way back. Legs were ok, not great. Pretty casual, Air not really tested.

Mileage for the year now at 134.

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: ~8mi/~38min
Driver: Led Zeppelin - Song Remains The Same
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Legs were not all the way back, but good enough to go, so we went. Air was not really challenged, as this was a pretty casual workout, more to try to resume rhythm.

Mileage for the year now at 127.

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: ~11mi/~48min
Driver: Led Zeppelin - Song Remains The Same
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Still can't seem to quite put consistency together. A touch coughy this morning, but Legs were good, so we went. Air was fine throughout. Whatever I did to my Traps is slowly getting better, but not quite all the way back yet. Yesterday was intensely problematic, partially due to me waking up with a headache, which is always a bad sign. Today was fine, however, so maybe I'm pulling out of this thing.

I have decided that the 26th or 27th will be the final workout day before my trip and I doubt I will be working out on it. I certainly have no plans to do that, even if the hotel gym is open. Positivity is higher than I would like and if I wasn't going somewhere that required masks, I probably wouldn't be going at all. When I get back, I need to go find work, finalize a divorce, and if the numbers are good, also resume the gym, though that might not be until closer to April. Workouts might be catch-as-catch-can.

On the plus token, weigh-in today was 229, which is -4 from last time, probably the single biggest drop since I started all of this and one I am at a loss to explain...hopefully it was not an anomaly...mileage for the year now at 119.

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Still kind of waxing and waning with allergies...or at least that's what I'm guessing it is...Air was not great today. Legs ok for about 3/4 of the workout, then dropped off pretty hard.

Weigh-in was 233, -1 from last time and I will need to check but if the fall continues, then I should reach the -30 mark from when I started soon. Mileage for the year is 108.

D151: 02.12.22

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: ~8mi/~35min
Driver: Placebo - Once More With Feeling
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Wound up sleeping in much later than usual, which sort of threw off my rhythm a bit. Legs didn't feel all the way back and I ran out of content on the DVD a touch early, so I just bagged it. I need to get back into the groove again and a lot of that is mindset. Being thrown off by whatever ailment put a huge wrench into that and hopefully by getting back to routine, I'll start to come around a bit more there.

Mileage now stands at 98 for 2022.

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: ~10mi/~44min
Driver: Placebo - Once More With Feeling
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Really hoping whatever was laying me kind of low for a bit has finally run its course. It was quite bothersome wanting to get going again and being unable to do that. Air was not super great today and I either tweaked a nerve or pulled something in my Traps, so using the handles was not something I could fully run, but Legs were fine and it was all systems go otherwise.

Last weigh-in was 234, which is the lowest mark since I started this...I didn't have much of an appetite, which was probably helpful there...just need to keep pressing on now that I'm feeling better. 2022 mileage is now at 90.

D149: 02.01.22

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: ~9mi/~41min
Driver: Yes - 9012Live
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Well, certainly did not mean to take an impromptu week off, but I seem to have caught something that I couldn't throw back, which disrupted everything. Coming down with anything lately and the immediate fear turns to COVID, but I take incredible precautions, am vaxxed and boosted, and though the likelihood of that somewhat low, buuuuut, I also took immediate precautions and tried to emphasize rest, though I could not have done any workouts at all, even if I wanted to.

On the plus side, last weigh-in was 235, which is -2 since the last time. Need to drop at least another 25, but hopefully that means we're back on track there. Mileage for 2022 is now 80. Obviously, I missed the soft goal for January, which leaves February to catch up. I'm also taking a trip in early March, so will have some off-time there, either will start the pause Feb 27 or March 1...still TBD. I also will need to change jobs again, so workouts may be getting really disrupted after I return for the trip...at least for a time.

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: ~5mi/~29min
Driver: Yes - 9012Live
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Been a really long while since I was able to do back to backs. Today, Legs were iffy, so I thought I would go super-casual, just get the blood flowing and keep on rhythm and not much else, essentially an entire session of speeds perhaps slightly above, but more or less warm-up and cool-down, which worked pretty well...stomach got a bit cranky at the end, which is why I cut it short. Obviously, Air was not pushed. Also been a really long while since a sub-30 min workout, but I figured this was close enough. Mileage for the year now at 71.

Observations/Intel: Felt better today, Legs in solid (though not sprint) shape, though I was able to run cadence a bit hotter and push Air a bit more. No complaints, other than my Shoulder still being dumb...mileage now 66 for the year.

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: ~8mi/~39min
Driver: Placebo - We Come In Pieces
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Not sure how effective the GlycoCARN is as of yet, but pretty sure I'm fighting off something. Feeling pretty dragged down and battling a bit of the gamboo. It's kind of like an allergy but not exactly...not quite a cold, either...figuring it's probably pollution, which is dreadful currently. It's not enough to stop me, but is definitely slowing me down and almost certainly impacting recovery. Legs were a touch fried today, so I tried to go more casual. I've also struggled quite a bit with Shoulder joint pain, so I've held off on the bodyweight stuff until that subsides. It's more nuisance than anything else so far...mileage now 56 for the year.

D145: 01.18.22

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: ~10mi/~48min
Driver: Yes - Union Live
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Legs were shot Sunday, as I was fairly active after the workout also. My Right Shoulder is still being a PITA, so no bodyweight workout. I have re-added Glyco-CARN back into things in the hope that recovery will pick up somewhat. I've been fighting bad allergies (or air pollution, not sure which) lately, which has screwed my appetite somewhat, also not helping. Today, allergies (or pollution), but Legs felt like they could go, so we went. Took it a lot more casual today and had I not a burning need to pee, might have extended this more.

Mileage is now 48 for the year. Weigh-in was 238, but I've been deliberately trying to not be as active to focus more on recovery. I think some light activity, like walks, would be of benefit, but pollution and pandemic are making a combination I have no desire to fuck around with, so catch-as-catch-can until one of them relents, I guess.

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: ~8mi/~38min
Driver: Amon Amarth: Versus The World
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Loaded well, Legs felt ok for most of the morning, though I was more active yesterday (and Thursday post workout) than planned, allergies a touch iffy, but they have to be near-paralyzing for me to be concerned with them these days. Got on the Air Dyne ready to chase the max, but after a longer than usual warm-up, followed by an attempt at a mini-sprint, it was clear they did not have the recuperation to attempt it. So, I backed off and just stick to a solid cadence, which was still pinging them. Air was also more tested than usual.

Before the September/October lapse of last year, I had been using L-CARN as part of my loading. I may consider going back to it, as it seemed to help with recovery. I mostly just keep forgetting lately, so I probably need to move the jar where I can see it to remember. Now at 38 miles for the year.

Also did a weigh-in, which was 237 (-2), so right back where I left off last year. If previous years trends hold, once I hit 220, things will start to get a lot more stubborn, but we'll see...

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: ~13mi/~60min
Driver: Yes - Union Live
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel:Attempted the bodyweight routine yesterday, but Right Shoulder was a bit on the aggravated side, so after a set of Inclines, I bagged it. I might need to start doing more Rotator work again.

Today, allergies were awful and took a long time to get out of. Legs were fine, but I decided to slow down the pace somewhat, since weekdays are supposed to be duration moreso. I didn't mean to go a full hour, but I'll take it. As I didn't press it, Air was fine, Legs mostly as well, though my ass started to get a bit saddle sore towards the end. I don't know if I will be chasing the sprints this weekend...TBD.

Weigh-in yesterday was 239 (+1), which is kind of the wrong direction, but I anticipated something like this after the shell shock of the stomach shit over last weekend as my system resets. I'm not on a high enough caloric load to really be putting on fat, so probably water retention (I had some snacks from my off week I needed to finish, which were, try as I might to get away from it, somewhat high sodium), along with possibly too low of a caloric intake. That should improve the more regular I can be with exercise. I'm also now 30 miles for the year.

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: ~10mi/~41min
Driver: In Flames - Used & Abused
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: I'm still not feeling 100%, but this is the first day I've felt mostly "back" on the Air Dyne. Legs weren't quite there, but hit some pretty solid spin speeds for duration. Allergies were funky, but Air held up pretty well.

This puts me at 17 for the year (I'm just going to keep running track). I have a really soft goal of hitting at least 100 miles per month for the months I'm not able to resume the gym, which strikes me as fairly readily attainable at my current condition. I've held off weighing in during that recent bit of issues, but I probably need to do one of those again soon.

Workout: Strength
Equipment Used: Bodyweight
Duration: ~20 min
Driver: N/A
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Last bike workout was kind of wonky, with me feeling off, a feeling which intensified and continued Friday. Saturday, I started prepping, as normal, but it became clear that there was something major wrong with my stomach, which precluded any kind of strain at all and a close location to a toilet. Sunday was better, but still didn't feel like my body was going to tolerate any kind of digging in or gutting out, so I decided to let that pass as well and hope that whatever the issue, it would be out of my system by then.

I was a bit iffy on today, but felt like I should give it a go, since I'll be doing this fucking bodyweight shit for a while until COVID calms down again. I slept wrong about a week ago and certain muscles towards my neck are still a touch sore, so I broke up Crunches a bit more. Overall, happy with better than anticipated numbers...

Incline push-ups: BWX15,15,15
Flat push-ups: BWX15,15, 0
Decline push-ups: BWX10,10,10

Flat crunches: BWX25, 25, 25, 25

Workout: Cardio
Equipment Used: Schwinn AirDyne
Duration: ~7mi/~31min
Driver: In Flames - Used & Abused
Calories: ???

Quality Level: N/A
Observations/Intel: Part of me thinks that I waited too long for the off-week, as the mental exhaustion is still fairly prominent, but another part reminds me that some of what I was doing made the time less restful than it could have been. To wit, I gave myself the option of having beers every single day once the OFF week officially started, i.e. after the day of recovery from the last workout. Now, I wound up skipping some days and calling the entire thing off in advance of that week, but, for those days when I did indulge, some of them compromised my rest fairly substantially. I planned on not really going off-diet so much as loosening it, but I'm still running calories too low and find myself in a definite stall. There was also some shoveling in there as well, though it was mostly a breeze. We'll come back to that a bit later, but today...

My sleep schedule being erratic continues and I loaded this morning twice, as I woke up ravenous way too early. When I went down to kick on the tv for the workout, the socket that I was using as my source was kaput. So, I wound up getting pissed, playing Resident Evil 2 for a while longer, then going back down and re-running power, which really threw off the timing of everything, including caloric loading. Consequently, when I got back to it, I was pretty hungry again. The light is also not optimal for me doing sprints and I'm going to need to figure something out there. I am going to re-attempt the MAX again this weekend, I think...we'll see how it goes. I really only have that one sprint goal left to hit, really and I suppose as long as I can see the needle, I can guess at the distance. Both Air and Legs were fine today, but I got to it really late and ran out of time moreso than anything else.

Starting weigh-in for 2022 is 238, which is +1 from where I left last year, but kind of expected. I need to get diet re-dialed back in and regular workouts always kind of help to keep me in the mode. I did explore gyms a bit over that time. The one closest to me is puny, expensive, and does not so much as have lockers, so fuck that. There is one a bit more distant and I think it's where the equipment from the place I used to like so much wound up, also half the money, so I'll probably wind up there. COVID-19 is exploding once again, though, so it won't be before February at the earliest and realistically probably not until March. So, back to the Push-ups next week...
